SHOW AND TELL

Bring a picture of something from Africa (animal or object)

Topic: Africa

Learn about the “dark continent”

The value we’ll be studying is wisdom, which is the ability to judge rightly and decide what is best for the common good.

For cooking, we’ll have peanuts in the shell and make “elephant heads” and “elephant ears”.

Outside, we’ll learn about talking drums and play the African ring game.

The songs we’ll be singing are Circle of Life, Kumbaya, The Green Grass Grows All Around, He’s Got the Whole World, Zippity-do-dah, and It’s a Small World.

For creative dramatics, we’ll learn How Spider Got His Thin Middle.

Our art activities are Egyptian fruit bat, bedazzling beads, tarboosh hats, African masks, and scrolls.

For motor development we’ll work on stamina with running. For postural respons, we’ll do balloons in space, balloon balance, ball partners, and cloudbursts.
