Topic: Colonial Times
What was it like to live 200 years ago?
The value we’ll be studying is courage, which means to be willing to deal with difficult, painful, or dangerous things.
For safety, we’ll be talking about what to do if we’re in a scary place or something scary happens.
Outside, we’ll be playing with hoops and horseshoes.
The songs we’ll be singing are Star Spangled Banner, Yankee Doodle, You’re a Grand Old Flag, Camptown Races, Polly Wolly Doodle, and America the Beautiful.
For creative dramatics, we’ll role play how to act in various safety scenarios.
Our art activities will be quilting, silhouettes, apple faces, and wind socks.
For motor development, we’ll be working on stamina with dance freeze and jello. For body movement, we’ll be practicing swimming strokes, playing follow the leader, and hopscotch.
