SHOW AND TELL
Bring a cowpoke thing
(bandana, spurs, boots, etc.).
Topic: Rodeo
We’ll learn about a custom of the Old West
The value we’ll be studying is courage, which is being brave.
For safety, we’ll learn to be safe around animals.
Outside, we’ll have our rodeo.
The songs we’ll be singing are Red River Valley, She’ll Be Comin’ Round the Mountain, Home on the Range, Whoopee Ti Yo, and Deep in the Heart of Texas.
For creative dramatics, we’ll practice patterned singing and clapping.
Our art activities will be chuck wagon, bucking bronco, bandanas, dancing cowboys, and lunch bag puppets.
For motor development we’ll work on flexibility with yoga poses. For proprioception, we’ll carry a heavy load, close our eyes and point to a body part, and do deep knee bends.
